Washing Machine Not Spinning? Here's What Could Be Wrong
5 min read

If your machine fills, washes and drains but won't enter the spin cycle, the problem is almost always mechanical or electronic — and almost always fixable on site.
The most common culprit is the drive belt. Over time it stretches and slips. A new belt is an inexpensive part and takes about 30 minutes to replace.
Worn motor carbon brushes are the next most common cause on older universal-motor machines. The motor will hum but the drum won't turn. New brushes restore full power.
Front loaders won't spin if the door lock circuit thinks the door is open. A failed interlock is a 15-minute job for our technicians.
If you hear a loud rumbling sound during the spin cycle, you may need new drum bearings — a bigger job but well worth it on premium machines.
